Hunter Ray Varga
On April 19th, 2010 at 5:09am Hunter Ray Varga was born a month prematurely. At 5lbs 3oz and 18 inches long he was already diagnosed with a rare heart condition. Just 10 days after birth, Hunter faced an extremely risky 12-hour open-heart surgery. Although the operation was necessary and ultimately successful, Hunter suffered adverse effects in the aftermath.
The little warrior fought through organs filling with fluid and still managed to make progress. Unfortunately each of his improvements were short-lived and interrupted with trials. Another surgery and countless types of medication later, Hunter came down with pneumonia. At 7am on November 24th Hunter took his last breath and his heart stopped.
After seven months of constant ups and downs Vanessa and Brian were forced to say goodbye to their beloved little boy without ever being able to take him home. Hunter’s memory and spirit live on as the inspiration behind Hunter’s Helping Hands.
